Der Bogen, die erste Distanzwaffe der Menschheit, hat auch heute nichts von seiner Faszination verloren.

Seit der jüngeren Altsteinzeit (30.000–10.000 v. Chr.) nutzen Menschen Pfeil und Bogen für die Jagd.

Selbst heute findet er bei vielen Völkern Verwendung, sowohl als Jagdwaffe, als auch als Wettkampfgerät und vielfach einfach auch als Sportgerät für die ganze Familie um gemeinsam in der Natur sich aktivzu betätigen und auch zu entspannen. Von einem Stück Holz mit Schnur zum Hi-Tech-Wettkampfgerät ist der Weg gar nicht so weit wie es scheint. Der Weg zur Beherrschung eines Bogens jedoch ist umso länger. Die Bogenjagd ist nicht etwas das man einfach so macht oder erlernt, aber wenn man einmal ihren Reiz und Faszination selber erlebt hat bietet sie eine der größten jagdlichen Herausforderungen in unserer Zeit. Das Handeln des Jägers gibt der Jagd eine Zukunft und wird von den Aufgaben des Menschen im Ökosystem und dem Verständnis des Tieres als Mitgeschöpf her bestimmt.

Bei jeder Jagd lernt man etwas Neues dazu.

It is not that far from stick and string to the modern Hi-Tec compound bows as it seems but the way to control a bow is even harder and longer. Hunting with bow and arrow is not something you just do but if you have become acquainted with the excitement and fascination it will be one of the best hunting challenges today. The appropriate acting and spirit of the hunter determines the future of hunting and is affected by the tasks and responsibilities of the hunter in the ecological system and the appreciation of wildlife as a fellow creature.
